Shelly - We are sorry to hear that you are having issues with the VTech DS6251-3. Make sure that you are using an RJ14 if your 2 lines are from the same telephone jack. The telephone system comes with 2 telephone line cord, use the black one to install the base to your jack. You may also test the base on the jack where the working phone is installed for isolation.
