No, the pendant is not waterproof.

I am certain you cannot go swimming with it but a few drops of water or other liquid should not hurt it unless it manages to get inside and ruin the circuit. Treat it like a cell phone and keep it dry as possible is my best advice. Longer life for anything that way.

It doesn't look so in the photo, and if it were I think VTech would call that out.
