- Answer It has space for four screens. If two are needed then it only uses half of the screen.

QuestionWhen using the monitor in split screen, is there a notification of noise in one of your children’s rooms? Ie. you’re watching both children but one starts crying, how will you know?

- Answer Danielle - No, the parent unit on the Vtech VM4261 is muted when on split screen mode but there's a feature that you can turn on. The Sound Alert in Split-View will let the parent unit beep and will display "Sound detected at CAM #" whenever the baby unit detects sound. Thank you for your interest!

QuestionI have a VTech vm4261-2. When going to power on, my monitor is stuck on a white screen. The logo doesn't show up and I can't see or hear anything. It's about 1 year old. I've tried resetting by taking the battery out also. Is there any way to solve this?

QuestionI cannot pair my additional camera to my parent unit: I hit the pair button, restarted multiple times, and nothing. There is no option on the parent unit to pair. Parent unit number vm4261 Camera unit number vm305 Please help

- Answer Josh - You won't be able to register any cameras to the VTech VM4261 as it is a non-expandable baby monitor. The VTech VM305 is only compatible with models VM343 and VM345. Thank you, -VTech Support

QuestionIs there some way I can disable the sound on the volume buttons that beep loudly every time I press them to lower or raise the volume. This is extremely inconvenient when you want everything to be quiet when baby is sleeping!

QuestionI repurchased VM4261. I cannot pair it to the camera I had. The monitor went out. The parent unit has up to 4 cameras so why will it not pair? The green light is flashing.

- Answer Hello - The four camera option on the parent is preset to all of our baby monitors as well as the menu structure which is mirrored from one another regardless of their expandability. Thank you, -VTech Support

- Answer I am having same problems never change anything from original setting and by rhe second week it started doing it. If u find out how to fix it would be appreciated as i already tried there Explanation and it doesn't work still cuts in-and-out. I might have to buy another brand as i firmly believe if they cant help fix or sell broken products i dont buy anymore and tell people about the junk they sell us

- Answer Hi - No, the VTech VM4261-2 does not require WiFi connection for it to work. The parent and baby units are paired with each other and communicates via the 1.9ghz frequency band. Thank you for your interest!

- Answer Kayla - The VM4261 does not accept additional cameras as it is a non-expandable unit. If you are interested with an expandable baby monitor, you may check models VM312 or VM343. Thank you -VTech Support

- Answer I think the above answer to my question about the VM-4161-2 being expandable unit is wrong! There are several identical questions right below my question on the same unit and the answers to them is yes, expandable to 4 cameras which is just what the 4 quadrants on the monitor screen shows when I split it for the 2 cameras. Only half of the screen is used with my two cameras. Bob

- Answer The only way to monitor and view one camera is if it is wifi enabled. In that case, your cellphone can be used as a 2nd monitor. Very unfortunate that you cannot paira 2nd monitor to one camera.
