I had the same problem. I have two VM5251-2 baby monitors because the AC adapter died on the first unit we purchased. We assumed you could combine the cameras for a two unit setup because the software in the parent unit implies you could use more cameras with it so we went ahead and bought a second set as we were happy with it so far. I called V-tech's support and as it turns out the cameras only work with the unit they came with and cannot be paired with another parent unit. (There is a little "pair hole" on the camera unit and when pressed it blinks but doesn't connect to the monitor and the manual doesn't detail its either.) It's such a waste as it would make it a great setup if you could use the existing cameras and expand the setup. It would be very helpful if it stated in the manual that the set is not expandable so people don't go and purchase another unit assuming they would work together. They clearly don't so hopefully I can return it. Very disappointed with this purchase.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Hi - The VTech VM5251-2 is a non-expandable baby monitor. The baby units cannot be paired to a different parent unit. Thank you, -VTech Support
