The computer/laptop shouldn’t matter. I use some high end software (ZBrush Core) so I’m not familiar with software for young kids. However, it takes some good hand eye coordination to use these (Intous line of products). I am about to switch to a Wacom Cintiq that lets you write/sketch/create directly on the screen. They are more expensive but much easier to use. Good luck! John
