This console is better than I expected. Have had no problems with the heating function and holds my 54 inch television perfectly. I leave the heat on day/night since I've purchased and still have had no problems. I feel if it did break, I have already got my money's worth.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes, a 55" tv would sit on it. You can chose to have just the "fire light" on or the heat on as well. If you are sitting in front of it and if it is a closed room, you can definitely feel the heat and be warm.

But it does work as a heater! The stand itself is 58" from side to side, so it can fit a 55" TV and a little bigger. Hope that helps!
