The Samsung HAF-CIN/EXP is the correct model filter for this refrigerator. We recommend genuine Samsung filters, which are available from samsung.com, or samsungparts.com.

A:AnswerFor starters if you are buying at Bestbuy you can rest assured that these filters are not knock off. And secondly there is a small Samsung hologram sticker on the box. Again if you buy at Bestbuy you know you're getting real products.
A:AnswerThe enclosed booklet claims they are tested and certified for NSF/ANSI Standards 42, 53, and 401. It includes a table of about 30 particulate classes (Asbestos, Mercury, Lead and many more.) I don't know what PFOS is, but I don't see a specific reference to it.
I would be leery of buying any non-Samsung Genuine filters a.k.a. OEM filters. While they carry lower prices, they often leak and otherwise don't perform as well.
BTW, I'm just a Samsung refrigerator owner and subscription purchaser of this item.
