It self cools if you get the model with the heatsink. Rtings.com has temp data on the drive if youre curious

You don't need to do anything additional; it passively dissipates heat into the surrounding air. Additionally they sell seperate "sleeves' that will thermally protect your SSD from damage. However there are reports that the sleeves are just a little to thick in a way it doesnt fit into a ps5 correctly. So i opted to buy one that came protected already.
