Yes you can. I use my existing SSD only for the software that was downloaded to the ps5. My second SSD holds my ps5 games and my external harddrive holds all my ps4 games. And no you cannot transfer a ps5 game to a external device. Thats only for ps4 games. Ps5 games stay on the ps5 internal SSD of your choosing.
