I have a Gateway DX4860-UB20P Desktop computer, will this hard drive work, I am looking to change out the original hard drive and replace looking for something that is a perfect fit. null

Mine was a Gateway DX4380G, different processor but drive arrangement same. Mine offered a semi-external plug-in to add a second drive, cloned the original by sector to it, and it works as a perfect replacement. But with the higher rpm, it is now zipping along much faster.

Yes you can use this Hard Drive.

Direct fit. You WILL have to have the install CD that comes with the computer. The hard drive is Not FORMATTED and the disk is required to perform a FORMAT.
Otherwise you will have to have a disk with the operating system you will be using WINDOWS, LINUX, MAC, or whatever.

Yes, it will definitely fit. It should also be an upgrade over what you currently have.
