As long as the surveillance system uses an SATA interface hard drive, then this should work just fine. Just be carefully choosing drives larger than 2 TB as the operating system used in your machine might not be able to access the entire capacity of the drive. I would check with the system manufacturer to be sure of any size limitations before I purchased a new drive.

And made for those systems. They have better drives for what you need. Blue label drives are minimum speed for desktops. It may work for your setup but performance won't be good. Just ask a best buy salesperson for the purple drives.
