If your previous drive crashed it's most likely shot. There are programs that can recover an image of the drive or possibly gather files that aren't corrupt. Try to do some searches online about recovering files from a crashed drive. Installing the new drive is gonna be starting from scratch. Unless you backed up the previous drive or have an image of it, it's gone. Having an SSD is always a plus. Start up is faster and browsing through the computer (with multiple programs/windows open) is much faster. Can never hurt to have a SSD as your master and use something like this SATA as the storage and program use (partitioned).
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. As long you have the Win10 and Office that came with your desktop. Yes, you can install it once you purchased a SSD. Hope that helps.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.?? Sorry, but no SSD vs SATA, That's up to you to decide. Personally I'd get the SATA

I replaced a 500GB hard drive on my HP and my computer definitely is faster of course the fresh installation is the primary factor in the improve performance. I looked at a SS drive but the sales person convinced me that for my desktop it would not be money well spent.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Installing this drive will not bring your operating system back from the old drive. That requires reloading from Dell system disks. All of your data that was on the old drive is lost and will not return after you install this drive. You should not look in to getting an SSD as the benefits would not out weigh the cost in your case. 1Tb of space allows you to be ready for expansion in the future should you keep the computer for a period of time.
