Why is my hard drive clicking? null

If still under warranty, return it. Failure of hardware or software within the drive is failing. If out of warranty you might try old-school trick. Seal in plastic bag and put if freezer overnight. Good luck.

They tend to click when they want you to know they are either Defective or not quite right. In my semi-non professional opinion, I would return the Drive immediately. Without any hesitation whatsoever.

Its probably dying. Clicking is a sign off the needle being damaged. Usually from being dropped or run for hundreds of hours.
