Have been using WD drives for a long time. I would recommend it for your Steam library as I use it for mine and it works perfectly.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. No, this is a 5400 rpm drive, best for long-term storage and low power consumption, not for purposes needing a quick response time. Look for a 7200 rpm drive instead.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.No. Consumer HDD's @ 5400 RPM are best suited for "Cold Data". ie: Documents, Pictures, and anything that you don't need quick access to. You would be better off with a Solid State Drive (SSD) or NVME m.2 drive depending on if your Laptop can suport it. They have no moving parts and much faster Read/Write speeds that most games crave they days. Ideally 1 SSD or NVME, and 1 HDD in same laptop if you can. Hope this helps someone.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Good for gaming is a broad question. It's 4TB for cheap, but its relatively slow. The best balance between performance and cost is to get 3, 1TB drives and create a Striped Dynamic disc in Windows. Create it in Computer Management NOT Storage Spaces!
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes, as a matter of fact, that is what I'm using it for.
