Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.No , no hard drive comes with windows installed , you will need the OEM install disc for win 7 and yes it can be used to replace any hard drive , its a solid state drive SO its going to speed up your system exponentially , you wont be disappointed.

Just remember to use the dell system recovery on a working dell computer first as the company will charge you if you have no working dell computer with their proprietary software. Plus you have to un secure the bios.

However, I will say this SSD has SATA3 interfacing and standard 2.5 inch form factor dimentions with a thickness of 7 mm. This SSD will fit any laptop with a standard drive bay in it and any version SATA interfacing. Drive bay adaptors and SATA cabling can fit this drive into most any computer. Sorry, Western Digital does not preload any OS on their drives. A replacement drive obtained from Dell for your computer might come with the software that came with the computer.
