Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes this was a sale price however much like last year SSD prices are going down and expect them to drop even more in 2020 when the next generation of SSDs come out, like the one's being used in the new Xbox Series X console. I would highly recommend at least a 1TB Samsung EVO 860 as they are constantly on sale for $99 to $109 and they have a much longer life span then the Sandisk SSDs as well as a better price per MB or GB. I currently run four 1TB EVO 860's and they are quick, responsive and have a long lifespan. You could go with the Samsung QVO 1TB that is on sale right now for $79.99 at Best Buy but it is more similar to the SanDisk as far as lifespan but the SanDisk has higher read write rates so its up to you as to what is more important, lifespan, performance or amount of storage. Find a fair balance that you can live with. I am currently testing the 512, 1TB and 2TB Sandisk drives and so far I must say I am very impressed with the read write speeds of the 1 and 2TB, but not as much with the 512 version. I am not sure if it uses a different controller or maybe because it is a smaller drive and might be produced in a different fab, and thus might use different memory. At any rate SSDs are great for performance and the prices have become very reasonable as I remember buying my first 2TB 850 Pro and it was well over $1,000 just 2-3 years ago and now that same 2TB drive can be had for $400-$500 and if you go with the 860 or 970 EVO versions you can get them for $179 to $299 depending on the model. I hope that helps, I am working on turning my hobby channel on youtube into more of a hardware channel as I have worked in the IT and Telecom industries for over 32 years giving me a pretty vast real world experience ratio compared to these "think they know it all college grads" that can't figure out how to put thermal compound on a CPU half the time, much less know the infrastructure of motherboards, graphic cards, the difference CPU and motherboard PCIe lanes make when installing certain devices and so much more, so for now if you enjoy hobby stuff you can subscribe to my YouTube channel Milohajek (aka VipersHardware) and I will let subscribers know if I decide to change the channel or perhaps start a 2nd channel for hardware, troubleshooting and real world experiences with tech support of various products. until then have a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Years and good luck with you upgrade. I just finished my next new system, a Core i9-9900KS on a Aorus Z390 Master motherboard with 128GB (4 x32GB) Corsair Vengeance LPX RAM, dual Radeon GPUs giving me 16GB of video RAM and 56TB of HDD space including a 2TB Sandisk SSD so subscribe and keep learning.
