“Is this a layered or shingled drive or does it write -read more like a standard drive? I have heard that the layered drives have to do a lot more work if you edit a file that is down a couple of layers where it has to rewrite all the top layers above it.”

• This is not a shingled drive, the inside is a 8TB red .
