Got it to work with Net Gear Easy share and it is backing up PC's etc. As noted above the speed is down due to wifi , but will live with the speed to have this much storage. Thanks for all the replies
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.It can be used as additional storage for a network. I use it to access video/ audio files to my tv/computer. I also use it as an easy storage for work when editing files. The speed for transfers will be reduced if using wifi vs hard wired.

I attempted a 4tb Version of the same model hard drive with my R7500, and that did not work. Short answer, officially no this hard drive will not work with the R7000.
