• Yes. In fact, unless you have a huge number of files, or those files are especially large, for Word and Excel files this is probably overkill.

• Yes, this will provide an enormous amount of space to backup word and excel and any other files. I've purchased quite a few of these drives for the same purpose and all have worked well.
