• It should. I’m running on Mojave. I’m also not using it as a time machine backup. I’m using it for primarily backing up other files. I have another external hard drive that does my TM backups. But that shouldn’t matter.

• I don't own an Apple, but since an Apple is a computer and today's computers use SATA ports and his hard drive has a SATA port, I would say 'YES'. If you would have asked, "Does this model work with a Commodore 64?", I would have given a resounding NO.
