• Yes. I use the 8TB drive for my TimeMachine backups for my MacBook Pro and Mac Mini. It isn’t the fastest drive but it works well. You do have to use the WD utility to reformat the drive, but that only takes a minute or two. I did find that you CANNOT use the Mac is utility to format the disk drive. Another thing to be aware of in my situation is that I did not go through my AirPort Extreme for my time machine backups to the drive. I just sneaker-net the drive between the 2 machines, as they are only 12 inches away from each other. It is also backward compatible to USB2 ports, if you have an older machine.
