• Yes you can it just has to be formatted so the PS4 can see it. Just look up videos on how to reformat external drive to PS4. I just read a complete walkthrough cuz this was my same question.

• yes but I would go with the 4 tb easy drive as you do not need it plugged in. I did this with my ps4

• You can. This particular deal is limited though. Finding your boys a 4TB unit that is truly portable would be my recommendation. This unit requires a wall power source as well as the usb cable to transfer data, the portable ones are labeled as (bus powered) which means the usb cable that transfers game information also powers it too.
