• Hi HD, The WD My Book hard drive comes pre-formatted for Windows OS. However, the hard drive can be reformatted in the supported filesystem for Mac OS. • I use mine for a PC computer. On the box it says it is Compatible with macOS High Sierra, Sierra or El Capitan - Compatibility may vary depending on user's hardware configuration and operating system. For MAC: WD Discovery software for WD Securtiy and WD Drive Utiities.
