“If I want to use this with windows and Mac, will I have to partition?”

• You won't have to partition unless you want to partition. When you format the hard drive, use exFat which recognizes both Mac & PC. It may run slightly not as fast. Plug into a Mac or a PC, with exFat you'll see your files & folders.

• You CAN partition if you want to but I just format all my Drives to ExFat on my mac and they are compatible with both macOS and Windows.
