I can't speak to Win XP, but I am accessing it via both Win 10, and a MacBook Pro
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes it does just fine (and fast too!). Simply create a Share and user and give them rights to access that share. You can also create a Public share to share files with your family while having your own files in your personal share.

Please try again later.Yes - Microsoft Server Message Block (SMB) Protocol is a network file sharing protocol, and as implemented in Microsoft Windows is known as Microsoft SMB Protocol. Common Internet File System (CiFS), is a derivative of SMB. As long as your Network Attached Storage (NAS) does, (and this one does) you're fine. Most newer Operating Systems (OS) and the NAS's they are built upon support CiFS. Including all variations of UNIX (Linux, Debian, Ubuntu, SuSe etc..)
