“I have an HP 8 desktop. I bought this hard drive yesterday. Manual says to get started, run "wd discovery.exe" but I can't find that. Where is it?”

• It should be under the Western Digital folder on you computer drive. However, I just installed this product yesterday and the WD Discovery software did not recognize the My Passport drive when connected to the USB port. If you experience that problem, you will need to download multiple software programs individually from the WD internet support section (path listed on the drive's retail package) in order to use your My Passport. The available software from the WD website includes WD Backup, WD Drive Utilities, WD Security, and Install WD Discovery.
