Yes, however the drive will be reformatted to be used with the DVR. The format is only compatible with other Dishnetwork DVRs. All data will be lost when the drive is reformatted and the drive will not be compatible with a PC until the drive is reformatted for a PC.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes it will work with any USB device with an OS which allows external storage however, depending on the OS the device your plugging into has it may reformat the drive...or at least require you to do so. In the case of expanding a DVR's storage capacity, most DVR's do not run a Windows OS therefore will typically auto reformat the drive. One thing to keep in mind, due to piracy laws, you cannot simply remove it from one DVR and plug it into another expecting that have access to your previously recording content, the new DVR will automatically reformat the drive. This is by design due to Piracy. Imagine recording the entire Game of Throne series, copying it to multiple hard drives?? imagine the amount you could sell those drives for. This is the reason DVR's are configured to automatically reformat any new Drive detected.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. Some of these do, just check with Dish network as they should usually have this info. If not, check the owners manual for the satellite box.
