• It’s super easy to set up the password. All you do is run the WD Security software, input the password and then locking will be enabled. This can be performed before or after moving data to the drive which is awesome as well. Also when the drive is locked, the security software is stored on a small virtual “disk” so whenever you plug the drive into a computer, there is nothing else to download. You just run the software, input the password, and you’re good to go.

• I don't remember about password protection. I remember it was very easy to set up and back up my Mac Pro. I'm pretty sure I set up the password, I just can't remember the details.
