You need to run the companion app to set the drive up. I am using this very drive with an old MacBook Pro and it runs great. Drive speed is slow but I am only using USB 2.0.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. It's always better to replace it if its under warranty. If in disk utility its not showing up then you can try opening the same in windows pc and re-format it to mac os supported format. And try again to connect it on your macbook pro. Hope it helps.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. If you have another computer, try to boot the drive up on that. I have a MacBook Pro, and it works perfectly for me. Sounds like a defective drive. You might also try another cable if you have one.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yeah I can help you. Download the driver
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. If the drive won't recognize, it is possible that it is mechanically failed in some way. I believe it has a 3 year warranty through WD, so if you contact them directly, they may be able to assist you with it. If the drive lights up and isn't making any sort of clicking noises, maybe try a different cable to connect it to the computer, just to rule that out.
