Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes. Windows will not boot from a USB drive. Beyond that pretty much any other software can be installed on your external hard drive and run from there.

It may work for simple programs but I wouldn't want to try to run Photoshop or anything very involved. The problem is that while running a program the drive will be asked to provide information constantly. If I were you I would look thoroughly on the manufactures website to find a proper answer. Or is you are really brave give it a go. I don't think you can hurt anything with am experiment like this.
