“Can I use a standard coax cable with this? If I have a coax run already connecting the rooms in my house, can IO just connect this to those?”

Hi Drew! The kit is supplied with the coax cable for the kit. It is standard coax, so your cable may work. We recommend the cable in the kit since it is the quality and length made for the system, but we understand other cables can work and might be easier to use in different applications.

It comes with RG-6 cable, with a joiner. So, no reason another RG-6 cable shouldn't already handle it. I have my doubts about, for example, RG-59 cable. I -do- -not- know if the length of cable they give you is a recommended max-length or not.
