I purchased mine online activation started when I installed the software not at the time of purchase. Hope this helps.

Yes. It goes from the date the NEW key is installed. So wait until your other one is about to expire, then load it.

Yes, you can wait the entire 78 days. No problem. When you buy a Webroot box with a 1- or 2-year subscription off the shelf, it doesn't start until you install the software. You could sit on it for 78 days, and you're activation period begins on the day you install it. Just go to the MY ACCOUNT option, click on the SPINDLE IMAGE on the right-side of those words, and there you will find a place to enter in your NEW LICENSE NUMBER. Good luck.
