Does this update and check for viruses at all times or do I have to run the program to scan and update the software? I have this on my mother's computer and not sure if she has to do anything. null

It checks for updates without asking. It notifies you when there is an update and gives you a choice of when you want to do it.

Geek Squad installed this product on my PC. I do not have to do anything. It does all the work. You may want to ask someone at the store, however, as I am just a consumer.

when you install it, it asks if you want it to run in the background. If you answer yes, it runs continually and you don't have to do anything more, unless it gives you a warning. If it does, you just follow the simple instructions.

It updates and scans whenever you turn on your computer. Once you install it set it up so it will do this. It's basically a set it and forget it product. Don't forget to turn your computer off after you're done using it. No one can get into your computer if it's turned off.

Webroot SecureAnywhere is designed to update automatically without you doing anything at all.
You can check the version yourself by clicking the gear icon to the right of "My Account" and then  the "About SecureAnywhere" tab.
