“I've had this TV for about a month now and have been unable to get it to play a DVD. The discs just won't go into the slot. I saw some online reviews that said you have to be in DVD mode to do it, but I can't find anything on the remote that will do it.”

It will play regular DVDs only not Blue-Ray. Make sure the label faces the wall and the silver/movie/music part faces you. Check the disc for marks or damage. On the side of the TV, the top button next to the dvd slot is to open/eject the dvd. The bottom button is to load the dvd. On the remote, there is a Return/triangle with an underline that Opens and Closes DVD. The arrow with two bars button is the start playback or pause, and the solid square button is the press once to stop, and the two arrows facing left with a bar button is the skip to the beginning of the previous chapter/track/photo button, and the OK of course is the select button.
