“Since I do have the smart t.v do I need to have cable? Do I need to add the roku? I plan on getting rid of cable as soon as my contract is up. I also plan on getting a larger t.v from Best Buy”

This TV is not very smart as it has only 6 apps: AccuWeather, NetFlix, YouTube, Vudu, Toon Googles and Pandora with no possibility to add more apps. I suggest you get a Roku stick or a Fire TV stick from Best Buy to turn this TV to a real smart TV. The Roku and Fire TV streaming devices are the best option for the people who would like to cut the cable TV cord because they provide many free movie/news/weather... channels that can be added from the built-in app stores.
