No, you can just use it cordless, which lasts 1 hour for a 1 hour charge.

Please try again later.I have read through the owners manual of this Braun model MGK 3080 and nowhere does it state that u cannot use the charging cord while shaving.So I would assume that if the shaver doesn’t get hot etc during use having the cord attached it is safe to keep it attached to the unit while using.Hope this helps.
