• The TV stand is 54 inches long, but is very heavy and sturdy. A 60 inch TV should be able to be mounted on the stand.

• No, you can still use the swivel mount; this model supports TVs up to 65" and 135 lbs.

• We have a Samsung 65" flat screen mounted to ours and it is stable sitting on the floor (carpeted) without additional wall mounts. We went with this stand because we are in a rental home and didn't want to start bolting a TV mount to the wall. That said, I bet that you could make it more secure with "earthquake" or anti-tip straps that would connect between the wall and the vertical riser that holds the TV. We just moved from IL to CA so this is a new concept for us.
