Can the recirculating vent be aimed away from the cabinets? null

Just bought this microwave and installed it ourselves. All vents are on top of the microwave. You can change the placement of air flow by moving the top panels around (front half of the top or back half of the top). The microwave comes with the back half covered, this would mean that the microwave recirculates air upwards but should clear the front of the cabinets; so air would blow up pass the cabinet doors. We switched the panels to allow airflow up the back half of the microwave closer to the wall, still upwards towards the cabinet but through our air duct.
