“I’m looking for a microwave that’s low profile and compact enough to mount under my cabinet so as not to take up space on my countertop. Can I just not use the venting function on this because I will not be putting it over my stove?”

Please try again later.Although technically possible to mount this under a cabinet, I wouldn’t recommend it. 1) At 30” wide X 10” tall it’s too large. 2) It sticks out 7” beyond our cabinets. 3) The combination of these is that it will make the counter top below the unit pretty useless. 4) You will need an outlet in the cupboard above the unit.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.The Whirlpool has the same options as other over the stove microwaves. It can exhaust to existing venting from the rear or the top. It can also simply recirculate back into the room, which is the way mine is set up. Note, access to your stove top with this unit is far superior to standard size units.
