• When talking about BTUs and ventilation, you need to count the number of BTUs of your cooktop then divide that number by 100 and that is the minimum CFM rating your vent should be. So if your cooktop power is over 60,000 BTUs you should really get a more powerful range hood (600 CFM or higher) and not a microwave.
