We too did not want to cut the tile (backsplash) out. However our situation may be different from yours. Our backsplash ended about 2" above where the new hood would sit so we just filled in the area above it with a wood backing to make the installation wall essentially flat. The new microwave fit perfectly and we didn't have to cut any of the backsplash out - see picture.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Each installation is somewhat unique. This is a full “depth” microwave so it does protrude out from an upper cabinet a good 2” +. It will depend upon what you are attaching it to.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes and no. Those top support screws are need to hold up the front of the microwave. If you are able to find an extender with additional bolt that will allow you to attach it to the bottom of the top cabinet and then the other end to microwave that would work. You will have to adjust the measurement to leave room between the bottom of the cabinet and the microwave for it or depending on the length of the end from the bottom of the cabinet you maybe able to cut grove that will still allow it to fit flush against the bottom. I would recommend talking with a carpenter or professional installer. Not having th measurement right will throw everything off. Great product give you more space above the range.
