• Hello Eyeguy! No, this does not need to be vented to the outside. This model comes recirculated into the home. Thank you for your inquiry on our Whirlpool appliances.

• We did not vent it out. It can be but not necessary. The instructions that come with it are a little confusing as they are also the template for mounting. They show 3 ways of venting.
