Short answer is no.This washer holds a very small amount of water, so if your water heater is any distance away, but the time hot water reaches it, the washer will be almost full. I have to start it out on a small load setting, add detergent and let it run a couple of minutes. Then add clothes, reset water level to medium or large load, then close lid. If you don't do this, the soap will not mix with the water.
