“Why is this microwave so noisy? We recently purchased WMH53520AS and had it installed with venting through the roof. The microwave (without fan on) is terribly noisy- much louder than the unit it replaced. When the fan is turned on it is like a jet motor running in my kitchen. No one can talk over it and even low speed is still loud. The installer returned and wrapped insulation around the vent pipe but this has not helped. Can anything be done to reduce the noise level?”

I don't have the same problem. Suggest un-install and confirm that the fan is properly installed, check directions. The installation requires that the fan be (reversed?) for vent through the wall application. Check level, etc they run loud when out of level. Good luck!
