What is the total height without the hinge? null

It's strange, but the doors stick up about and Inch and I/2 higher that the housing. I don't know why they did that. I've had two whirlpool dishwashers that have been great. I only replace the old one because I wanted Stainless. I do not run the heated drying because I heard that it's what causes a dishwasher to break down. It must be true because I've had Whirlpool dish washers for close to 20 years without ever a breakdown.
