“Is the gasket around the door covered under the warranty? And is there a secure way to attach this? Mine came loose the first month and is still causing problems.”

Should be Assuming that the unit is still within the warranty period. I would suggest that you call the Whirlpool helpline. The number can be found in your owners manual or online.
