This washer either fills to the top of your load or if you prefer you can set it on deep water wash and it fills it over your clothes. But I have not had any residual I have only used it a little more than a month though and use the HE products I hope this helps.

We recommend using Affresh to maintain the cleanliness of the appliance. Affresh is able to penetrate hard-to-reach areas in the washer and dissolve and remove the odor and the residue that are often missed. While bleach remains a good alternative, Affresh is more effective than bleach alone.
