I'm not sure it has a small raised part on the bottom so I would no agitator...nothing to harm clothes in my opinion. I wanted a direct drive top load and its great. Quiet and many features. Very Pleased.

An impeller is a low-profile cone at the bottom of the tub that uses fins, cones, or discs to create motion. This motion pushes clothes to rub against each other, versus against an agitator, to break down dirt. We hope this helps!
