You shouldn’t “see” any gallons. It is almost impossible to gauge the amount of water this cycle is using when u stop the machine and open the lid. The clothing in the machine adds to the “water displacement theory” thus eliminating your ability to judge volume. The sensor phase determines the water volume based on the amount of clothing placed in the tub. Both fill height of the clothing and weight are used in this calculation. Are your clothes getting clean? If not, call whirlpool for a service call while the machine remains in the warranty period.
