I'M NOT SURE ABOUT THE DISTANCE BUT...COMPARED TO THE PREVIOUS STOVE I OWNED, I HAVE TO TURN THE FLAME DOWN AS ALL BURNERS ARE MORE THAN SUFFICIENT IN HEATING THE CONTENTS AND THIS STOVE DOES IT BETTER THAN MY OLD STOVE DID. THE FLAME IS ALSO MUCH MORE EVENLY DISTRIBUTED UNDER THE POTS/PANS, SO THE FOOD GETS EVENLY COOKED.
